NotesThe epithet \"Gnod sbyin\" refers to Gnod sbyin bdag po, a synonym (Skt. abhidhAna) for Rgyal chen rnam thos sras (Vaisravana). (Chandra Das, Tibetan-English Dictionary, 1992 [1902]: 754.) The gnod sbyin, according to Das, are \"a set of deities or demons believed, in Tibet, to haunt mountains and especially mountain passes. They are poisonous to travellers unless propitiated at a pass-top. Many mountain ranges in Tibet are named after gnod sbyin demons.\"
AbstractThe poet criticizes those among the older generation who are overly concerned with money. In addition to the acrostic (abcedarian) device, he also incorporates the word \"sgor mo\" (money) in each and every line.
