AbstractThe section features three separate translations of the same poem, respectively entitled: 1. Hri ho'i mngag gzhug 2. Hri ho'i pho nya 3. Hri ho grong la slbes pa'i mngag gzhug The editors ask readers to critique the translations and to submit these for reprinting in \"Letters to the Editor.\" The original Chinese poem is entitled shi hao shi (Recruiting Officer at Shih hao village) and was written by the Tang Dynasty poet Du fu (=Tu Fu). An English version of this poem is available in Cyril Birch, Anthology of Chinese Literature, vol. 1 (New York: Grove Press, 1965): 239-240.
